Not too far from St. Petersburg Floria, a kiteboarder recently jumped over a pier during tropical storm Debby. In insane winds and moderate waves, the kiteboarder got plenty of speed and jumped well over the pier. It's amazing to see such determination during what must have been an unpredictable session. As someone who has spent time on the gulf coast, it's not every day they get such winds and waves. Cheer below!
For those not familier with kiteboarding; you should know that it takes a lot of skill and practice. In 2008 a kiteboarder was injured when he tried to launch into Tropical Storm Fay just off of Ft. Lauderdale (FL). The video below is the footage from the accident, and luckily, after lots of medical treatments, the kitesurfer survived. Beware this video is gnarly.
